Awareness Walk with BCAN

Walk to End Bladder Cancer 2018 with the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN).

Earlier this year I helped document the Walk to End Bladder Cancer at Maggie Daley Park here in Chicago. The walk was for the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network as they work to raise awareness for bladder cancer, as well as funds for research and educational support for the bladder cancer community.

Connecting Art with Advocacy

My photographs capture the beauty of the Chicago lakefront, but they also represent a link between the ecology of the Great Lakes and our human dependency on the environment.

The perception is that our region possesses a seemingly endless abundance of water — but this misconception distracts from the fragility of this freshwater ecosystem and undermines its importance.

Using art as a pathway for discovery, I invite you to embrace the aesthetic joy I find while exploring the lakefront — and learn more about the natural world surrounding us.
