Chicago SketchFest 2012 1.27.2012
The 11th annual Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival, SketchFest, took place January 5th-15th at Stage773.
I haven’t seen a lot of sketch in Chicago so this festival was a good experience. There were some groups that made me laugh in the middle of my shutter clicks, which usually meant I loved watching the group. There were a few groups I watched again because I didn’t feel my first attempt to photograph them did their performance justice.
There was one group, though entertaining and visually fun to photograph, I refused to watch again. Sure, I could have gotten some better photographs the second time around, but I really didn’t feel like having my eyes molested again. I’m talking about FUCT. I really don’t feel like reliving the encounter, so I won’t. If you ever have the chance to see them, see them. It’s worth the experience.
The entire festival was a blast. I got to hang out with friends, makes some fun photographs, drink beer, and laugh. It’s sad that the whole thing is over, but it’s nice to have a normal sleep schedule again.
Note: In order of appearance, the groups represented are Stir Friday Night, Heavy Wait, The Cupid Players, Wildcard, Stir Friday Night, FUCT, The Cupid Players (L) and Off Off Broadzway (R), Off Off Broadzway, Rabbit Rabbit, Barretta, and FUCT. If I have a photograph of your group above, that means I shot your whole show. If you want to see more, just contact me.

Winter Wonderland 1.13.2012
Winter finally hit Chicago on Thursday bringing whiteout conditions. With my childlike amusement, I eagerly and hurriedly shuffled around Lincoln Park to photograph the scenes before the light disappeared for the night.
After waiting a few months for a storm like this to roll through, I am relieved to make a few of the images I had imagined.
