With NATO in town and work mandating that we work from home, I decided a better use of this beautiful Friday would be spent not working. Today as my day off, I walked around Lincoln Park with my macro gear and smelled the flowers for awhile.

When I woke up this morning to shoot the sunrise, I had no expectations of also shooting the sunset. As the day progressed, I learned that the weather was going to get a bit nasty this evening.

After running to the grocery store and hanging around the apartment for a bit, I finally made my way to the roof. The sky was behaving nicely and I was able to get a little lightning into my shot. I assumed it would be too light out, so I didn’t bother bringing my tripod with me.

I’m lucky to have caught what I did, but I kept playing in my head all of the bolts that I missed.
